JIM'S BIKE DETAIL SHOP UPDATE 12-20-10

I had been telling Jim that I would come down and do an update on his business, JIM'S BIKE DETAIL SHOP, for several weeks now and decided to go visit Jim on Monday, 12-20-10. Scroll down and check out this great bike detail shop that is being supported by bikers from near and far. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

JIM'S BIKE DETAIL SHOP is located at 1001 Holliday in Wichita Falls Texas. The phone numbers for Jim's are: 940-232-4181 and 940-691-1121.

Jim does Texas state inspections for motorcycles, cars and pick-up trucks, bike washing and detailing, motorcycle oil changes, checks & services cables and an assortment of other servicing for motorcycles. Jim is priced right and you should give him a call for your motorcycle needs. The man is good at what he does and most of his business comes by word of mouth and when folks ride down from Oklahoma and up from the Dallas Metroplex to see Jim, then that ought to tell you how good he is and how well he treats his customers. Jim also rides his Harley all over the states, so you know this is a biker owned and operated business.

When I got down to Jim's, Greg was there getting Jim to check out a few things on his Harley. I might add at this point, that although you'll see a lot of Harley's at Jim's, he services and details ALL makes of bikes.

Inside the shop, is his lift he uses when washing the bikes. That is Jim's 73 Corvette Stingray he is restoring. It has got to be the smoothest running Corvette I have ever heard. It truly "purrs" as we use to say in the 60's.

Some of the bikes at Jim's. The Harley with the ape hangers belongs to Tammy (Jim's girlfriend), then Jim's Harley Road Glide, then the chopper he won at a biker event down in the Dallas area. The blue Ultra Classic is for sale, and then my Heritage is on the far end.

Jim is a lover of fine cigars and here he is lighting one of those babies up.

Jim & Greg in the front office area.

Jim and I in the front office area.

Greg tells Jim he will see him later and then heads out.

Jim and I went over to the bikes and this bee was jackin' with us, so when it got down to boot level, I kicked it and knocked it down. Here it is on the ground buzzing like mad. It was pissed..

Here is the chopper Jim won at the Adult Bike Rally down in Alvarado Texas back in July. (www.bikersadultrally.com )The chopper was built by Troy Nicholson at www.lightningcylework.com . Check his site out.

Jim has this sign posted in clear view by the bikes outside. Jim told me the other day that this little piss ant came by, looked at the sign then jumped up on Jim's chop and was doing the "look at me, I'm a biker" thing and Jim yelled at him and he unassed the bike and took off and saved himself a severe butt woopin'. The number of dumb asses in the world never ceases to amaze me...

That's Tammy's bike on the end. It is a Screamin Eagle and she can handle that bike with absolutely no problem. She also has a pair of shoes that match the paint job on it.

The Harley in the middle is for sale. Jim also sells bikes on consignment. That is how I came by my bike. I bought it from Jim and he gave me the bike for a lot less than was blue book. And I love my Harley!! (on the far end)

This is a great looking bike and I think they are selling it for under book value also. It is a 2003 Harley Ultra Classic with, I believe, about 34,000 miles on it. I may be wrong, but by looking at the blue/gray pinstriping on it, it may be a Police Edition.

They have the bike knocked down to $11,500. If interested, give Jim a call now, because I guarantee you, this bike won't be there for long.

Another look at the front of the Ultra Classic

When you go in for a Texas state inspection sticker, you'll pull your bike or car into this side of the shop, and a very short time later, Jim will have you on your way all fixed up so the laws can't jack with ya about having an expiredinspection sticker..

If you go in for a wash & detail, this is where Jim does the detailing. If you have a bike with saddlebags, Jim removes them and all the covers on the bike and thoroughly cleans them before detailing. When he finishes, your bike will be gleaming in the sunlight. I know of no one that has been unhappy with Jim's work. Most tell their friends and then the friends go to Jim.

We go back inside and Jim takes a cigar break.

A short time later, my good friend Louis rides up.

Dearl & Troy pull up a short time later. This is, left to right: Louis, Dearl and Troy

Here is Louis, Dearl, Jim and Troy

me, Dearl, Jim and Troy. Jim talked with Troy and they were going to run down to Bowie Texas with a quick stop in Henrietta Texas to see Charlie at Four Stars Motorcycle Ranch. check out Four Stars at: www.fourstarsautoranch.com and then click on motorcycles

They invite me along so, I get a couple pictures of Troy (red Harley) and Dearl (blue Harley) before we head South.

Dearl and Troy on their bikes as we get ready to roll down to Bowie Texas to go to Crashs Cycles, www.crashscycles.com , and Wal-Mart. This will conclude this post. I enjoyed seeing Jim and the guys and I looked forward to the ride to Bowie Texas. It will be the next post.
Scroll down for more rides, events and runs and don't forget to click on the "OLDER POSTS" link at the bottom of EACH page or directly underneath the last post on the page, for more rides, events and runs.
Continue to pray for all of our troops both in and out of Harms Way, especially for Che Whitaker and Chris Drage, both of whom are in the Afghanistan Theatre of Operations.
Until next post, ya'll be careful out there, keep the rubber on the road, your head on a swivel and most importantly...................RIDE SAFE!! ..
.................JOHN
