Janice & John's Day Out 7-24-10

Saturday, 7-24-10, Janice told me she wanted some "John & Janice time" and she wanted to ride the Harley up to Medicine Park Oklahoma and eat at The Plantation Restaurant. Since Janice never asks to go anywhere on the bike, I cancelled my other ride plans, and took Janice up to Medicine Park Oklahoma. Scroll down and see how the day went on this brief but much needed ride. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURES BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURES.

We left Wichita Falls Texas and rode up to our first stop, the Love's Truck Stop on OK49 just off of I-44. Here is Janice at Love's

Here I am at the Love's Truck Stop.

As we enter the Medicine Park city limits, we pass this Preying Mantis lawn decoration in front of one of the residences

We get to the Plantation Restaurant. Here is Janice holding up a Plantation menu. For more info on The Old Plantation Restaurant, see this Link: www.theoldplantationrestaurant.com and this link for more on Medicine park: www.medicinepark.com

Here I am in the Old Plantation Restaurant

We finish eating and head out. Here is a head on picture of that Preying Mantis

We stop at the McDonald's Plaza just before the H.E. Bailey (South) Turnpike toll booth to gas up. Here is Janice waiting for me to gas the bike up.

Me trying to finish off a Babe Ruth candy bar before driving the next 14 miles or so into Texas.

Janice resting on the bike as I wander around and take pictures

Janice gets another picture of me at the gas station

Another pic of Janice at the gas station

Last picture of Janice at the gas station. Time to move out..

We pull out of the gas station, stop at the toll booth, pay the toll and then continue South bound. Why is Janice smiling yo ask?

She is smiling because she looked over my shoulder and saw the Red River Bridge ahead and Texas on the other side. Janice is Texan thru and thru and always likes it when we cross the state line back into Texas and home...

The Red River is starting to get back to normal after being at flood state a week or so ago.

As we cross the Red River Bridge and into Texas, Janice is all smiles..

The Burkburnett city limit sign and the big welcome back to Texas, State Line sign.

This will conclude this short post. We had a good time today and Janice has a sun burnt face and shoulders and we are doing the Aloe Vera thing on her to keep the sting out.
