ICE CREAM SOCIAL ARCHER CITY TEXAS DQ 8-26-10

Thursday, 8-26-10, the weekly Ice Cream Social was held in Archer City Texas at the DQ (Dairy Queen) on TX79 by the city's South City Limit. Our numbers were down some due to some previous engagements but we that went had a great time, as always. Scroll down and join us for this short ride and REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

Bud and I met by the gas pumps at the Wal-Mart at Southwest Parkway & TX79. I gassed the Harley up and then we headed south down TX79 for the 25 mile trip to the DQ in Archer City Texas. Clear sky, cooler temperatures and very little traffic made this a good ride. We were in no hurry, so, even though the speed limit is 70 mph, I lead us down at about 60 mph, enjoying every minute of this ride.

Here is Bud cruising along behind me. I offered to let him lead the way, but he likes to hang in the back.

Another view of Bud. He sure loves his new Yamaha Venture. He got that bike after he totaled his on Aug 30,2009 as we were returning from a PGR mission up in Purcell Oklahoma.

We get to the DQ in Archer City Texas and park the bikes. There were quite a few of the local residents there.

Bud's red Yamaha Venture and my black Harley Heritage

We see that Tex and Laura are there. This is their Harley Ultra Classic

Laura is all smiles today.

This is Tex. He and Laura had on matching shirts. VERY good looking shirts I might add.

Here is Bud. He enjoyed the cool temps today also, as he went cruising around Wichita Falls this morning on his bike. The temps were in the low 70's.

This is our good friend Ron. He is always in a good mood.

This is Amy. She is another good friend and she, her son Colter, Ron and myself all go to the Broken Chains Freedom Church in Wichita Falls Texas together.

This is Amy, Chandra's son, and Matt on the left side. On the right side is Colter and Chandra

This is Chandra and Greg. They ride a Victory.

This is me and Laura. She totalled her bike in front of me on a benefit ride a month or two ago. She rolled a couple times and ended up on her feet. A few cuts and bruises was all she got out of it, thank God...Oh, and a new Harley..

Tex and Laura's Harley Ultra Classic and Ron's blue Harley Dyna Glide. LeAnn was riding with Ron tonight.

Bud's red Yamaha Venture, my black Harley Heritage and Matt's blue/silver Kawasaki Vulcan. All six bikes there tonight including Greg & Chandra's Victory are good looking and good running motorcycles. I will get a picture of Greg's Victory next week. He had left to take his daughter home and got back to pick up Chandra as we were leaving.

Last pic of tonight's ride are of Matt's new baffles... The bike has a new throatier sound.. This will conclude this post. I had a good time tonight being with everyone and I PROMISE TEX, I WILL HAVE THAT BOOK IN MY SADDLEBAG FOR WHEN WE MEET AGAIN!! I have a book on the battle of An Loc Vietnam in 1972. Tex was there with the 1st Infantry Division in 1967 and I keep forgetting to take that book with me to give to him.
